I’m Md Abdur Rahaman, an AI & Automation Engineer with a background in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and a strong drive to pursue advanced research and higher studies. My work bridges multiple domains, including artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, IoT, web development, and data analysis, enabling me to develop smart and practical solutions for real-world challenges.
I’m passionate about working in fast-paced and innovative environments, where I can continuously learn, build, and improve. Whether collaborating with a team or working independently, I bring a positive attitude, adaptability, and a problem-solving mindset to every project.
My core interest lies in AI and robotics, where I’ve explored and built a range of impactful projects. These include an Earthquake Safety System presented at the Google Science Fair, an AI-based Earthquake Prediction model developed for my thesis, an award-winning Line Following Robot, an IoT-based Gas Detection System, and Cosmosic, a Mars simulation project for the NASA Space Apps Challenge. I have also worked on advanced systems involving computer vision, intelligent automation, and embedded technologies.

Real-Time EWaste Material Classification and IoTOrchestrated Actuation Using Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (Funded by - National ICT Innovation Grant)
Developed an **AI & IoT-Based E-Waste Management System** integrating smart sensors and AI-driven analytics for real-time monitoring and classification of electronic waste. The system enables automated identification of e-waste types, optimized collection planning, and data-driven recycling decisions through centralized dashboards. This project improved operational efficiency, scalability, and sustainability in waste management systems and was **funded by the ICT Innovation Grant**, supporting innovation in intelligent environmental solutions.

AI-Driven Distributed Access Control System (AIDA)
AIDA-ACS (AI-Driven Distributed Access Control System) is a smart access control platform where person detection and identification are performed by a remote AI service, while physical door control is handled by an ESP32-based embedded system. The AI and embedded device communicate securely over the internet, enabling intelligent, scalable, and remotely managed access decisions.

Intelligent Process Monitoring System for Polymer Mixing Equipment
Smart Monitoring & Protection System for Plastic Mixing Machines is an R&D pilot project focused on improving reliability, safety, and process consistency in polymer mixing operations for plastic pipe manufacturing. The system provides real-time monitoring of motor electrical parameters, material load weight, and mechanical safety conditions to detect overloads, faults, and improper operation. By integrating electrical sensing, load measurement, and industrial safety detection, the solution aims to reduce equipment failure, improve mix quality, optimize energy usage, and lower maintenance costs in industrial plastic mixing machines.

Radiation Monitoring Aerial System (UAV)
Engineered a drone capable of tracing nuclear radiation, incorporating advanced robotics and high-sensitivity radiation sensors. The drone features real-time data analysis and mapping, providing precise radiation level detection for enhanced safety and response measures. This project improved the drone's autonomous navigation and reliability in diverse environments, offering a robust solution for monitoring nuclear hazards.

Advanced Line Follower Robot
This project focused on designing a line-following robot equipped with sophisticated sensors for accurate tracking, speed optimization, and obstacle avoidance. It achieved 1st runner-up in the IUTC Line Follower Robot Competition

Earthquake Safety System (EQ Saver)
The project utilized a sensor to detect primary and secondary earthquake waves, triggering an alarm system and shutting off power lines to ensure safety. This system incorporated an accelerometer to sense vibrations, which then sent signals to a microcontroller. The microcontroller activated servo motors and alarms to shut down the main power lines and alert occupants. This project was showcased at the Google Science Fair 2016 and later modified for the 2019 NASA Space Apps Challenge. Key partners included Google, LEGO Education, National Geographic, Scientific American, and Virgin Galactic. This project later inspired my thesis on earthquake prediction using AI models.

IoT Gas Leak Detection System
This innovative IoT device was designed for real-time gas leak detection, employing high-sensitivity sensors, instant mobile alerts, and data logging for preventive maintenance. The project ranked 1st in both the ACC IT Carnival and the 1st AML ACC Business Idea Festival.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Google Science Fair (2016)
Earthquake Safety System For my Google Science Fair project, I designed an advanced Earthquake Safety System aimed at safeguarding lives and property during seismic events. This system utilizes sensors to detect primary earthquake waves (P-waves) and quickly issues a warning to alert individuals of the impending quake. In addition to providing an early warning, the system automatically shuts down critical infrastructure, including electricity, gas, and water lines. This proactive approach helps prevent fires, gas leaks, and water damage, ensuring a comprehensive safety response that minimizes the risk of secondary disasters during an earthquake.

NASA Space Apps Challenge (2019)
EQ Saver, Predicting earthquake by machine learning.
Our project name is EQ-Saver & its main theme is to collect ground movement data and compare it with the data provided by NASA. Using Machine learni to predicting the next big earthquake disaster and we will be able to take steps to minimize the loss.
Background:
Earthquake is a natural disaster. Earthquakes are usually caused when underground rocks suddenly breaks along a fault. This sudden release of energy causes the seismic waves that make the ground shake.During the earthquake and afterward, the plates or blocks of rock start moving, and they continue to move until they get stuck again. The spot underground where the rock breaks is called the focus of the earthquake. The place right above the focus (on top of the ground) is called the epicenter of the earthquake.
The main focus of our project is to collect the tectonic plate movement data and compare it to the existing data from NASA. We are using an accelerometer to measure the ground movement in x, y, z, axis. This will be place in different area. When any movement occurs that will be recorded and send to an online data server . The app will keep a record. Also, by using machine learning to predict earthquake on a particular area . Like after collecting 3 months of data we can observe the situation of the tectonic plate and compare it to past 5 years data from NASA. This will give a clear prediction of any earthquake near future. The prediction will be more accurate as the machine learning algorithm continues to find the best possible outcomes. This will let people to take early precaution for any upcoming disaster related to earthquake. In the future we will be developing this project to use not only for our earth but also far beyond other planets as we are already planning to build habitation on mars to ensure human safety. This project is cost effective too. "A $10 solution to save many lives".

SDG Hackathon - Code for a cause (2020)
The "WeSave" app is a comprehensive and user-friendly platform designed to protect women and children from a range of serious threats, including rape, sexual assault, kidnapping, domestic cruelty, trafficking, dowry-related crimes, and indecency. This innovative app provides essential support by enabling real-time alerts, direct emergency contacts, and access to resources tailored to victims' needs. It empowers users with immediate assistance and protection, aiming to prevent and address violence effectively. The app’s significant impact and innovative approach were recognized when it was selected as one of the top 25 projects in the Banglalink SDG | Hackathon "Code for a Cause" 2.0 in 2020, highlighting its potential to make a difference in safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
